“MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE”

AAVV MASTER VISUAL JOURNALISM 2024

Location: VARIOUS

The exhibition “More than Meets the Eye” collects the extraordinary projects of the graduates of the annual Visual Journalism and Documentary Photography course, directed by Riccardo Bononi and born from the collaboration and experience of Irfoss Aps and IMP Festival.

Each project focused on a different aspect of contemporaneity, explored by the authors through a year-long fieldwork of visual investigation: from life on the streets of the “invisible” of our society, to the long-term effects of climate change, from the reflection on the change in the local economy to the more intimate and personal reworking of extragenerational family dynamics, the authors have become precious witnesses of our time.

Each project was selected and curated by an international and truly exceptional teaching staff, composed of Darcy Padilla, Greg Marinovich, Rosy Santella, Massimo Sciacca, Giulia Nausicaa Bianchi, Riccardo Bononi, Stefano Collizzolli, Tony Gentile, Niccolò Filippo Rosso, Mattia Vacca, Maria Francesca Lui, Marco Lumini, Lorenzo Cicconi Massi, Laura Liverani, Jean Marc Caimi, Valentina Piccinni, Giulia Iacolutti, Paolo Cagnan, Fausto Podavini, Diego Orlando, Andrea Signori, Valentino Bellini, David Stuart, Svetlana Bachevanova.

The projects exhibited were completed in April 2024 and are absolutely unpublished, shown for the first time exclusively for IMP Festival 2024.
